Welcome to A whale of a time Self Catering accommodation in Fish Hoek, Cape Town - South Africa.

A Whale of a time is an owner managed self catering accommodation establishment in picturesque Fish Hoek, with breathtaking 180 degree, panoramic views of False Bay, established in 1996.

We offer guests a variety of accommodation in Fish Hoek with our luxurious & tastefully decorated self-contained apartments, each with spectacular sea views. The following is available - a Stone Cottage, Penthouse, Garden Apartment and single bedroom Apartments.

These accommodate from 2 to 6 guests and have fully equipped kitchenettes, bathrooms en suite, TV, M-Net and satellite connection. The delightful salt-water residents? pool is surrounded by wooden decking where guests recline on sun lounges and bask in the sunshine, enjoying the exquisite view of the bay.

Perfectly positioned to view and listen to the whales that visit every year, we are a 5 minute stroll away from the tranquil and family friendly Fish Hoek beach with its soft, powdery white beachsand and warm water. Fish Hoek beach is one of the most beautifull swimming beaches in South Africa.

Enjoy an un-obstructed view of the whales during whale season while relaxing in our luxurious home away from home environment. You will be able to listen to the soothing sounds of the whales from the balcony!

The Neptune's Garden Apartment

Warm ambience welcomes you to this lovely three bedroom, two bathroom (one Jacuzzi bath) spacious garden apartment overlooking the sea.

This spacious seaview garden apartment, being completely self-contained is perfect for a family or a group of travelling friends. It has a very well appointed kitchen/dining area fully equipped with fridge/freezer, oven and hob, microwave oven, crockery, cutlery, toaster, kettle, large eating bar counter etc.open-plan to a sunny, comfortably furnished family sized lounge with sliding doors open to the exclusive garden in front.

Penguin apartment

Luxurious, spacious 1 bedroom apartment with magnificent sea view - Sleeps two.

Tastefully furnished with soft voile curtaining, butterscotch maple flooring, solid Oregon furniture etc. for comfort and pleasure this apartment consists of a large sun-filled lounge, open-plan with kitchenette in solid Oregon,  fully equipped with fridge, two plate Salton stove, microwave oven, crockery, cutlery, eating bar counter etc. all with french doors wide to the wrap-around balcony and spectacular view of the False Bay waters.

The Orca Apartment

Luxurious, spacious 1 bedroom apartment with magnificent sea views - Sleeps two.

Tastefully decorated for warmth and comfort this apartment consists of a large sun-filled lounge, open-plan with dinette and glowing oregon kitchen area fully equipped with fridge/freezer, oven and hob, microwave oven, crockery, cutlery, toaster, large eating bar counter etc. all with french doors wide to the balcony and worldclass view of the Indian ocean in False Bay.

The Dolphin Studio Apartment

Accommodation three adults and one child, or two adults and two children

Adjacent to the Whale penthouse is the Dolphin Apartment. This open plan studio apartment with second bedroom, has a relaxed atmosphere. It has been tastefully furnished and has stunning 180° sea views. There is TV, shared DSTV and M-Net, and guests have the use of the residents' inviting crystal clear, salt-water swimming pool situated below in the well-maintained garden.

Beluga Penthouse

Well the name says it all. No higher can you go! Tastefully furnished, soft, romantic and full of charm, this suite is in a class all its own, and has the most stunning views overlooking the sea It consists of two bedrooms and a large open-plan sun-lounge with fitted kitchen .

The main bedroom, is furnished with a queen-size bed facing out to sea and the glorious sunrise over False Bay. The built-in cupboards are of solid maple. A second sunny bedroom has two single mounted solid oregon (bunk) beds.The romantic Victorian bathroom has loads of charm with its slipper bath and candelabra, for long ramantic, candlelit soaks, as well as a full shower.

The Southern Right Stone Cottage

One of a kind, built of hand-packed stone, carried by hand from the mountain cliffs of Sunny Cove, with dark beams and gum poles, lovingly thatched. This magical stone cottage offers unsurpassed, sweeping views from its dormer windows, across the whole of False Bay to the Hottentots Holland mountains beyond.

The stone cottage, is fully self-contained with a well-fitted kitchen and cosy lounge. It sleeps four people in two en-suite bedrooms upstairs and with a shower and the offer of an extra two beds downstairs, can stretch its accommodation to six. This is truly an experience not to be missed

Directions

From Cape Town International Airport: As you leave the airport, follow the N2 signs going toward City/Stadt/Cape Town until you see the exit for M3-Muizenberg. From the city: Get onto the N2 and follow signs for M3-Muizenberg. Stay on the M3 until it ends at a T junction after Tokai. Turn left, following the signs for Muizenberg. You quickly arrive at another T junction ? turn right into Main Road. Follow this road through Muizenberg, St James, Kalk Bay into Fish Hoek. Stay on Main Road through central Fish Hoek until you reach another T junction at a large circle. Turn left at the circle following the sign for Simonstown. At the first traffic light turn right into Highway Road and immediately sharp left. Continue straight and the road becomes Echo. We are number 11 Echo road on the left hand side. Welcome!!
