Description

The main house was built in the late 1800s, although the plans were submitted for the house in the 1850s. Most of the the house seems to be a Danish DIY (wood and iron) model, imported by ships. We suspect, however, that the yellow-wood floors came from the Knysna area. The office and our home is the larger section of the house where the first Harbour Master once resided.

In house accommodation : Sea front

The Suite : Privately nestled in the historic homestead with own entrance comprising a

large double bedroom and sunny lounge (xtra single bed in lounge).

Small dining suite area with fridge, kettle, microwave - but no stove.

Ideal for those not requiring self catering. Bathroom (shower in bath) practically en-suite.

Gorgeous views. Outside braai area in side garden off the balcony. Museum a doorstep away.

The Rose Room :

Double bedroom (2 x ¾ beds) with own bathroom (shower, not bath)

down the passage, separate entrance. Ideal for budget travellers or

for extra members of family staying in the above suite

Beach Cottage 1 : Sea front

This cottage, with its beautiful west coast garden, was built in the late 19th Century and will transport you into nostalgic reverie. It comprises two double bedrooms, a triple bedroom and the single secret bedroom. It has a large lounge and a fully equipped breakfast room. There is only one large bathroom which has a separate shower. Two braai areas are available and the sun drenched porch allows for spectacular views and sunsets.

Beach Cottage 2 : Sea front

Semi-detached from Beach Cottage 1 on the more shaded side, this slightly smaller cottage comprises 3 bedrooms (two are inter-leading), open plan lounge, dining and kitchen in one. This cottage has one bathroom (no shower, but shower head in the bath).The front garden offers spectacular views and has a braai-area.

Palm Court : Sea visible & only 50m away

Old world charm with a palm tree in the small front garden off the stoep. This home has 3 bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, bathroom (shower head in bath only), fully equipped, braai area.

Blue House : Sea visible & only 50m away

So named because its bluish décor, this quaint cottage has 2 bedrooms, lounge, fully equipped kitchen, braai, large bathroom but shower head in bath only. Small yard and front garden off stoep.

This recently restored cute little cottage comprises 2 bedrooms (one with double bed and a front lookout room, and the other with 2 small beds), small but well equipped kitchenette, braai, lounge, bath with shower head only in bathroom. Small yard with braai and front garden.

All our homes are self-catering and have fresh linen, towels and soap, as well as kitchen equipment and braai facilities. The houses all have MNet TV, but no telephones. The houses are wooden inside, and comfortably furnished in antique/cottage style with interesting artwork. Internet facilities are available and restaurants and stores all within walking distance.
Breakfast is available on request.
