Until recently a relatively undiscovered tourist destination, the Cape’s West Coast is one of South Africa’s hidden gems: a safe, tranquil region where the simple life is still the norm. Experience the unique charm of this area as you unwind and recharge at Calypso Villas, a new concept in luxury guest-house accommodation at Langebaan on the West Coast. Here we combine adventurous exploring with luxurious comfort, a close-to-nature feeling with modern convenience.

Our villas are surrounded by beauty: the splendour of Saldanha Bay and the scenic Langebaan lagoon. Built on the dunes overlooking an unspoiled beach where the Atlantic Ocean gently laps at the shore, we are but a stone’s throw from the water’s edge. All suites feature generous balconies, affording a 180 degree sea-view. Our guests enjoy the privacy and safety of a private estate with supervised entrance.

Whales, dolphins and seals are regular visitors to these protected waters and can often be spotted from your bedroom window. And don’t forget that in spring the surrounding landscape turns into a tapestry of colour when a multitude of wild flowers make their annual appearance.

Within walking distance of the Club Mykonos recreation and entertainment facilities, Calypso Villas can be a haven of heavenly leisure or a hive of healthy activity, depending on your preference. We have a small fleet of vessels waiting to take you on a magical cruise, whether you prefer the swift elegance of a yacht, the excitement of a speedboat or the adrenalin rush of an inflatable.

Perhaps you may want to visit the islands, where thousands of gannets, gulls and cormorants collect in a delightful cacophony of squawks and squabbles. You may prefer a trip to the Postberg Nature Reserve with its abundance of spring flowers, or sail across to Saldanha Bay to enjoy a seafood lunch at a waterfront restaurant.

Not many people are aware of the wealth of cultural, historical, botanical, ornithological and marine diversity this unique area offers. Our trained tour-guides will accompany you on tailor made excursions to discover the Cape’s West Coast for yourself: perhaps a tour through picturesque fishing villages with opportunity for meeting the locals, or visiting places of historical or even pre-historical interest. And how about tasting our finest wines touring the West Coast wine route before taking a closer look at the fascinating shipwrecks along the coast? Then again, you may choose to spend the day bird-watching in the lagoon wetlands, teeming with migratory birds from as far as Siberia.

Discover the culinary delights of the region at informal eating-places situated right on the beach. If you prefer your entertainment indoors, there’s always the conference centre, casino, beauty salon and professional massage treatments at Club Mykonos just next door. Our private car rental service is available to take you wherever you want to go and we have a complimentary shuttle service to and from the Cape Town International Airport.

The idyllic setting is everything!!! Calypso Villas are situated on a fynbos-covered dune virtually 30 meters from the high tide mark, with just the boardwalk and a few steps between you and an unspoilt white beach, overlooking the Bay of Saldanha and Langebaan lagoon.

The guesthouses overwhelm guests with its tranquil and serene sea views ? spoil yourself with panoramic sunsets from our licensed bar or patio. All twelve fully equipped guest suites are beachfront with floor-to-ceiling, picture perfect windows, which allow for a 180-degree sea view, and have access to balconies.

The astonishing views escalate even further when you enter the guest suites on the second and third floors - prime seats during the whale season, or be the first to spot sea-life, the rare oystercatcher or water sport enthusiasts!

Calypso Villas is perfectly situated to have the best of two worlds: you can either spend time on your own in the private and tranquil setting of the guest houses or engage in a variety of activities - within walking distance of our own beach bar, a sought after yacht resort, marine terrace, conference centre, curio shops, restaurants and casino.

Our Villas

Calypso Villas offer a luxurious stay in two modern guesthouses overlooking the ever-changing panorama of sea and sky where the Atlantic Ocean rushes in to meet a beach of pure white sand. Within walking distance of the popular Club Mykonos, the Villas remain a haven of peace and quiet.

Accommodation is available in six fully equipped suites per guesthouse, two of which are
family units sleeping four persons (two adults and two children).

The rooms are light and airy, simply but tastefully furnished, and equipped with satellite TV, a small safe for personal valuables, hairdryer, heater and facilities for making tea or coffee. All rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows and access to balconies affording magnificent sea-views.

A hearty breakfast is served on the first floor, where you will also find a comfortable lounge and convivial bar. Braai (barbecue) facilities are available and upon request arrangements can be made to have a "braai" for our guests. You are welcome to enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail outside on the patio on a fine evening.

A sun deck on the roof ensures sheltered privacy for guests who would like to soak up some beneficial West Coast sunshine. Our shuttle service provides transport from and to Cape TownInternational Airport.
