Gordons Bay

Gordons Bay is situated on the eastern end of False Bay Cape

Gordons Bay is a small, picturesque seaside town at the eastern end of False Bay. Expensive mansions and luxury apartment houses nestle high up on the slope. The white sandy Bikini Beach is known to be particularly well protected from the wind and ideal for swimming. The beachfront promenade is lined with popular fish restaurants, pubs and coffeeshops and in the old harbour, one can book boat trips or deep sea fishing trips in the False Bay.

The N2 ascends steeply behind Gordons Bay up to the 403 metre high Sir Lowrys Pass. The pass over the Hottentots Holland Mountains was opened in 1838 and it made the Overberg region accessible, enabling people to settle there. From the pass one has a stunning view of the entire of False Bay.
