‘Mareditat Flores Decorant’ (‘the ocean nourishes, the flowers embellish’) is the motto of Yzerfontein, a small fishing village renowned for it’s unspoiled beaches, fantastic weather, fynbos and beautiful views. With massive rollers sweeping into the bay, Yzerfontein is on of the finest surfing spots on the West Coast. The area offers excellent fishing opportunities and is a haven for whale watchers. During spring, with the wild flowers in bloom, the surrounding area is transformed into a fairyland of vivid colours.
